Bringing Food to Those in Need

The Knights of Columbus donated $100,000 to assist the Connecticut Food Bank in providing meals to those in needs during the Christmas season. Supreme Knight Carl Anderson presented a check for $100,000 to Nancy Carrington, CEO of the Connecticut Food Bank in New Haven at the Knights of Columbus headquarters on December 23.

"With the cost of food rising and so many people struggling with hunger in our community, the Knights of Columbus is pleased to support the wonderful work of the Connecticut Food Bank especially as we prepare to celebrate Christmas," said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson. "Helping others in need here in Connecticut - and around the world - has been the mission of the Knights of Columbus for more than 130 years.“

Bringing food to those in need

For more than a decade, the New Haven-based Knight of Columbus has regularly supported the Food Bank with donations of food and funding. Earlier this year, a gift of $20,000 was made to the Food Bank prior to Thanksgiving Day.

K of C employees and volunteers have assisted Connecticut Food Bank over the years in a variety of fundraising and volunteer endeavors.
