About Andaman & Nicobar Island There are a total of 572 islands that make up the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago, which is located in the region where the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea meet. Only roughly 38 of these 572 islands are actually inhabited by people. The history of the Andaman Islands In most cases, we research the local history before going to a location for the first time. It contributes to our better understanding of the people and the setting. The excursion to the Andaman Islands was not an exception. In the course of researching the history of the location, I came across a few facts that were rather fascinating. Everyone is aware of the fact that Andaman Tour Package was used by the British as a prison colony during the colonial era; yet, it seems that the area has historical documentation that predates this time period. It is not known for certain when the first people arrived to this cluster of islands and made their homes there. It is thought that there was a people in the Andaman Islands more than 30,000 years ago. The oldest piece of archaeological evidence was found to date back 2,200 years. The Chola Dynasty’s King Rajendra Chola I was the first person to colonize these islands and establish a naval base on one of them in order to launch expeditions against the Sriwijaya Empire of Indonesia. This occurred between the years 1014 and 1042 AD. After some time, the islands were ruled by the Danish East India Company, which remained in power until 1868. Last but not least, the British East India Company made the acquisition of these islands in 1869, and not long after that, they established a prison colony on each of these islands. The Best Places to See During Your Andaman Vacation During our time in the Andaman Tour Package, we came to the conclusion that the destination is a treat for the traditional types of visitors as well as backpackers. The number of attractions that can be seen in Andaman is rather extensive, but every one of them is worthy of your time and attention. We will begin with the more typical locations, and then go on to the more out-of-the-way ones. Port Blair The city of Port Blair serves as the administrative center of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In addition to being the most populous town, it serves as the primary port of entry for all of the other islands. Therefore, it is quite likely that your journey will begin at this location. The town is home to a number of tourist attractions, some of which include the Samudrika Marine Museum, the Cellular Jail, and the water sports complex, amongst others. In addition, if you are interested in going to the beach, you may go to the beach located in Corbyn’s Cove. This location also provides opportunities for water sports.
The Island of Ross (Netaji Subhash Chandra Dweep) Ross Island is another another location that will have you speechless and in awe. Before an earthquake in 1941, this island served as the capital of Andaman Tour Package. However, the island was obliterated by the natural disaster. For close to eighty years, the Indian Penal Settlement’s administrative offices were located on Ross Island. The island had establishments such as bakeries, bakeries, stores, workshops, a distillery for water, churches, tennis courts, printing presses, secretariats, hospitals, cemeteries, and open-air theaters, among other amenities. Today, everything has disappeared except some old dilapidated buildings, which housed some of these landmarks.
