Cardboard Boxes - What Are They Made Of

You've probably seen cardboard boxes in retail stores. But what is the real construction of these boxes? They're essentially flutes of recycled paper sandwiched between two liners. Often, the liners are made from recycled content as well, like used cardboard or other sources of second hand paper. Though most retail boxes use recycled content, there are still some premium brands that use virgin Kraft, a type of paper that comes from freshly harvested trees.<br>

  1. Cardboard Boxes - What Are They Made Of? (will use on monday) You've probably seen cardboard boxes in retail stores. But what is the real construction of these boxes? They're essentially flutes of recycled paper sandwiched between two liners. Often, the liners are made from recycled content as well, like used cardboard or other sources of second hand paper. Though most retail boxes use recycled content, there are still some premium brands that use virgin Kraft, a type of paper that comes from freshly harvested trees.

  2. Corrugated fiberboard • When it comes to corrugated boxes, you can choose from a variety of styles. These custom boxesusually fall into one of a few general categories: slotted, telescope, rigid, and interior forms. Depending on the type of box you're buying, you can even customize the design and shape of the box. These boxes are ideal for shipping and storing fragile items. To learn more about corrugated boxes, read on. • The most popular style of corrugated fiberboard box is the Regular Slotted Container. The corrugated sheet is scored for folding, and the flaps on the side and end panels meet in the center. Flaps on this style of box usually measure about half of the overall width and fold over half the way. You can see the flute direction in these boxes by slicing one of them, or by comparing the thickness of the two.

They can be easily folded when not in use. Here are some benefits of One Piece Folder boxes:

  4. Lining options • There are many lining options for cardboard boxes. Cardboard is usually made from two liners and has a fluted center. This basic type of cardboard is known as Single Wall board, and can be bent along the fluting for added strength. Single Wall boards are not recommended for heavy-duty use. The following are some common lining options for cardboard boxes. Each of these options has its benefits and drawbacks. Learn about each one so you can make the best choice for your needs. • Single-face corrugated cardboard is available in rolls. This type of corrugated box offers extra cushioning for fragile items. Single-wall corrugated boxes are made of one sheet of corrugated medium sandwiched between two sheets of linerboard. Double-wall boxes are stronger but less flexible than single-wall boxes. Triple-wall boxes have three layers of corrugated medium and four liner board facings
