  1. Does Chewing Gum Get Rid of a Double Chin? Look, let's be honest here; you have accepted the sobering fact that you have a double chin. And you have also accepted the fact that the damn thing HAS to go! That's all good. But maybe you've had different people tell you all kinds of different things, and could use a bit of clarity. Especially with the oft mentioned tactic "just chew gum!" Heck, it would be great if that worked right? But the million dollar question is does it work? Without any hype or BS, let's take a look. So chewing a stick of gum can eliminate a double chin, eh? By that logic, drinking a diet soda and eating a gallon of reduced calorie ice cream will get you back to your bikini weight too, right? Obviously these are cynical sentiments towards weight loss in our instant gratification world. Practically speaking, it goes without saying that not every worthwhile aim has a silver bullet cure Sugar free hq. I think we all know that. But of course there are some oddball methods that do sometimes work. Maybe this is one of them. And without building some false drama, or exaggerating the truth, I will give you straightforward answers. From what I have found, actually the answer is yes and no. I know you want the straightforward answer and I intend to give it to you. But it helps to be clear about the larger issue. Outside of heredity and inherited biological traits, a double chin is merely a result of being overweight (in most cases). Quite frankly, the extra pounds are the issue and the double chin is a result of a person carrying excess weight. Therefore, the ultimate solution is to burn more calories than you take in, which means observing a proper diet and getting a healthy amount of exercise. Yes, you already know these things. But I believe that it's helpful to remember that the tried and true methods are what work. They just involve work, which is why no one wants to commit to doing them. This means that sitting on your couch chewing Hubba Bubba and watching American Idol isn't going to lose you that extra roll at the bottom of your jaw. Getting off that couch and getting a good 20 minutes of real cardio followed by a healthy change in your diet will get you there. Of course chewing gum alone and doing nothing else is NOT going to work. That's the truth. However, that doesn't mean that chewing gum is pointless. In fact, it can help you: here's how. The act of chewing itself actually works those facial muscles that are part of the afflicted area. Again, this doesn't mean you get to start inhaling sweet, sugary bubble gum products (those will rot your teeth out). Find a sugar free chewing gum you like, and chew for a good 20 minutes. Don't go overboard; twice a day is plenty. The reason why chewing gum does help is because you are working those jaw and facial muscles to prevent excess fat buildup under your chin. While chewing alone won't eliminate the double chin overnight, it will help you to keep that jaw line tight by consistently working it over time. Remember,

  2. you didn't get that double chin overnight, so just know that it won't disappear overnight either. Accept the fact that "with proper diet and exercise" this method does work. And there you have it folks. Not everything you hear is crazy...just most of it. This method, when used properly, does work. Now get to work and get rid of that thing!
