Growing Up Free: Fostering Independence in Early Learners In line with the principles of our early childhood program we consider it important for young children to be as independent as possible. Thus, accepting our understanding that the early years are the most important as far as the child’s emerging skills and confidence as a lifelong sort. Our program aims at fostering the child and let them grow, learn, and gain the independence they need through play and in other purposeful ways that are fun.
1. Learning environment based on the child’s needs They are designed in such a way that suggests the kind of learning and discovery we look for our classrooms to foster. Every learning area is planned for a specific learning focus; the materials and arrangements encourage children to work with the objects in response to the learning area at their own will. This way the child gains decision-making skills and owns each experience that he or she undertakes during the day. 2. Focus on Life Skills In this case, independence is not only limited to learning but also r existential skills are attained. We incorporate practical life activities as a component of our program which include pouring, sorting and gardening. In the context of the proposed activities, many of these activities also help develop motor skills as well as teach responsibility and acknowledgment of accomplishment. They are able to learn self and environmental management, which make them gain confidence and be on their own.
3. Promotion of Socialisation In our early childhood program we base on the key area of social skills and interdependence. Children acquire interpersonal skills such as being able to share, speak and cooperate with others through group undertakings and co Curricular projects. We allow and help them to share their feelings and opinions, and to feel they are part of something. It assists help them in the social relations and as well establish good strong relationship for future relationships. 4. Individualized Learning Plans Knowing that every child is different, we create their learning profile based on their interests, abilities, and developmental needs. All our teachers monitor the progress of every learner and provide a learning capacity that meets the child’s pace. Due to this, the teaching-learning process affords individual child pride since children are active participants in the process. 5. The Promotion of Critical Evaluation We encourage critical thinking by using unsolved questions and tasks in a discussion which helps enhance creative desire and ability in problem solving. Through our educators, children learn to be creative; they are given choices to make and ideas, as well as avenues to look at from one perspective. Not only does this approach remind kids about the importance of having better executive functions but it also informs children that it is okay to have judgement and use it too. 6. Supportive Educator Guidance Here at XYZ we value independence; however, our knowledgeable instructors never leave you to struggle alone. My time at the center made me realize how they closely monitor each child’s activities just in case they need help; they watch them as they grow and develop through stages by helping them feel secured while they move round the classroom. The best ratio of autonomy, and structure is maintained to ensure that children feel safe enough to risk and learn from them when necessary. 7. The arguments based on the consequences of the development of the intellect and the emotions are similar, the major difference being that the emotional faculties are the focus of the arguments. Our program also includes the emotional aspect, youth learn to control their emotions, and recognize them. Finally, children learn how to identify their emotions and those of others through such dramatizations as, storytelling, role play and discussion.
