Commitment & Dedication Conference Overview • Kickoff Fellowship: Saturday, July 31st, 5:00 P.M., Fellowship Hall • Main Course: Smoked Ham & Turkey Breast (using borrowed cooker) • Remainder of menu arranged by Banquet Team • Program: Presentation by Bro. Joe Cochran • Dinner music, Congregational song, and two specials (Music Team) • Sunday thru Tuesday evening program showcases Sunday School, Bus Ministry/NBC, & AWANA respectively (10 minutes or less duration) • Music Ministry showcased during all services • Wednesday evening is Awards and Commitments • Remaining ministries highlighted in the Display Area via “Photo Boards” • Pre-registration for AWANA and Vacation Bible School

  6. Team Tasks Displays Team 1. Responsible for making and installing the banners that will be mounted over and along sides of baptistry. 2. Make and install posters around the auditorium and hallways. Poster designs will be provided by the Program Team 3. Responsible for organizing the table displays for the various ministries. Coordinate with Program Team for display contents. 4. Responsible for table decor/background, coverings, etc. 5. Responsible for “Photo Boards” depicting non-showcased ministries. 6. Responsible for commitment tables at front of auditorium. 7. Responsible for “Works of Faith” commitment box @ altar.

Team Tasks Displays Team (Cont’d) Timetable for displays • Banners (Over baptistry and along walls of auditorium) • In place by Saturday, July 17th • Take down August 16th or 17th • Display area at rear of auditorium and commitment tables at the front • Setup complete by July 30th • Clean up complete during week of August 9-13th

Team Tasks Music Team • Banquet (July 31st) • One congregational song + one special • Background dinner music • Sunday thru Wednesday services (Aug 1-4): • Showcase all areas of the Music Ministry • Personal testimonies from Music Ministry volunteers • Choir members • Group and/or soloists give testimony prior to singing • Orchestra and children choir workers

Team Tasks Banquet Team • Made up of three sub-teams of volunteers • Chef’s team • Room Setup team • Tables Setup team • All activities coordinated with Committee Chairman. • Recruit men and ladies to help with the Room & Tables setup teams. • Chef’s team is recruited by the Chef. • Chef’s team responsible for the meat; Banquet Team Leaders responsible responsible for all other food.

  10. Team Tasks Banquet Team - General Responsibilities 1. Responsible for obtaining portable gas cooker for smoking hams/turkey breasts and the “chef staff” for the cooker. 2. Responsible for organizing Servers (men) and table assignments. Men wear appropriate attire. 3. Responsible for organizing ladies to prepare food dishes and table decor, etc. 4. Responsible for table arrangement/set-up and alternate dining area, i.e., Room 103, if required. 5. Responsible for post-banquet clean-up.

  11. Team Tasks Banquet Team - Specific Duties & Instructions Table Setup In Fellowship Hall 1. Use approximately 16 eight foot tables, placed in three or four rows of six or five tables each, respectively, end-to-end. 2. Use two six foot tables end-to-end for head table. 3. Use three eight foot tables across fellowship hall along wall common to choir room. ( For use by servers). 4. Setup tables with salad, drink, napkin, eating utensils, etc. 5. Servers will wait on the people by removing salad dishes, keeping drink cups filled, and serving dessert.

  12. Team Tasks Banquet Team - Specific Duties & Instructions Serving Table Arrangement 1. Use hallway between Fellowship Hall and Auditorium. 2. Use two eight foot tables manned by three servers each table. 3. Serve the people cafeteria style; servers giving food portions as the people pass by. 4. People will enter the serving area from the east and west side hallways and having received their food will enter the Fellowship Hall via the entrance off the hallway.

  13. Team Tasks Programs Team 1. Responsible for organizing the banquet program and the presentation of the evening. 2. Responsible for organizing evening services programs as related to the ministry being showcased. At this time, it is anticipated that each presentation will consist primarily of testimonies of respective volunteers. Joe Cochran will moderate.

Commitment & Dedication Conference Commitment Procedures • Nightly, Sunday thru Wednesday • Tables with blank cards for each ministry area • Tables located at front of auditorium, each side • Commitments made at anytime during the conference as the Lord leads. • Commitment cards will be dropped into the “Works of Faith” box on the altar table at the front of the auditorium. Note: On any given night, a volunteer may “commit” on more than one ministry area.

  15. Commitment & Dedication Conference The name of the game is teamwork. Even with specific responsibilities, let’s pitch in wherever we are needed to get the job done.

Commitment & Dedication Conference Display Tables ~ Suggested Contents Sunday School:Photo albums, Curriculum, Students work, Awards, etc. Bus & NBC:Photo albums, Curriculum sample, Awards, etc. AWANAS:Photo albums, Curriculum sample, Awards, Registration, etc. Music Ministry:Photo albums, tapes, live music, etc. VBS:Banners, Promotional Material, etc. Strategically place four “Photo Boards” (mounted on easels) around the Info table, one @ each end & two in front, containing a variety of photographs of volunteers at work in all of our ministries (emphasis on non-showcased ministries) at WHBC.
