  1. Ello Review Dipping my toes into the newest social network pool-By Online Super Ninja.

  2. First impressions of Ello were rather underwhelming. • I realize its still in beta, but it feels scrappy and uncomfortable. • The navigation is unclear. • Results seemed to have no resemblance to the search terms.

  3. So what does Ello look like? • I don’t really understand the ‘noise’ button.

  4. The ‘Noise’ doesn’t seem to change, at least not on my feed (is it a feed?) • To me it feels like an unloved urban ‘loft’ apartment in an old warehouse ­ all bare light bulbs and no soft furnishings.

  5. So What has Ello got right? • They have promised it will stay that way ­ Hurrah!! • Hence, no adverts. • It isn’t cluttered. • All I can see is my feed and the little circles that my ‘friends’ have dropped their avatar picture into. • I can @mention people, though there is no hashtag system so I can’t use that to search for a specific topic

  6. I will persevere. • Give Ello a proper chance to assert itself in my social network driven life. • Ello is still in development. • Its still in beta, but it feels scrappy and uncomfortable.
