  1. Indore Institute of computer education (IICE) AutoCAD CAD/CAM/CAE

  2. What is AutoCAD? CAD stands for 'computer-aided design' -- Autodesk created the most popular program. The Autodesk company prides itself on being a 'leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software', per their website. Through their website, AutoCAD and several other software programs are available for free. AutoCAD also supports numerous application program interfaces for automation and customization.AutoCAD is a computer-aided tool that allows many different types of designers to create diverse kinds of drawings and designs. This program helps designers create their designs much more quickly than by hand and offers many quick, easy, and useful features, such as copy and paste. Autodesk has also developed a few other variants of AutoCAD that address discipline-specific needs.

  3. How AutoCAD is used? AutoCAD has many uses and is even being leveraged by industries beyond the architectural and mechanical fields. For example, custom stage design companies may use the 3D modeling tools within AutoCAD to turn creative ideas into detailed conceptual designs that they are confident about because they can visualize nearly exactly what they need to build.AutoCAD can create any 2D drawing and 3D model or construction that can be drawn by hand. The program also allows the user to group or layer objects, keep objects in a database for future use, and manipulate properties of objects, such as size, shape, and location. AutoCAD has numerous applications in a wide range of fields. The program can be used for simple projects, such as graphs or presentations, or complex designs, like drawing up the architecture of a building.

  4. Who uses AutoCAD? Individuals who work in or are currently pursuing careers in the architecture, mechanical or engineering fields will discover many benefits of using AutoCAD. AutoCAD has numerous capabilities that can be applied to an array of projects in various fields. Various kinds of designers are most likely to use the program and it is more common in design-centered fields, like architecture and engineering. Uploading AutoCAD 3-D files into Autodesk Simulation software allows engineers to create mechanical simulations of designs for stress analysis and testing for interference between parts. AutoCAD drawings also can become animations that provide virtual tours of a planned building or produce demonstrations of how a product appears when assembled.

  5. How is AutoCAD used? AutoCAD is used by professionals across many industries to do everything from designing and building show floor exhibits that demand attention to the complex design and construction of the National Stadium Brasilia. • Decide what project you want to use AutoCAD for. • Ensure that your computer meets the program's system requirements. • Install the AutoCAD program. • Familiarize yourself with how to navigate through AutoCAD. • Create a new drawing. • Locate the small gear icon at the bottom of the screen. • Click the Home icon on the left side of the ribbon.

  6. Continue…….. • Select the Line icon from the drop down menu. • Check the text in the command/prompt toolbar. • Move your mouse inside the drawing area. • Click the left mouse button near the center of the drawing area. • Look for the text "Specify next point or [Undo]" in the command/prompt area. • Type "@4<0" in the command/prompt area and hit enter twice. • Your 4-inch line is complete. • Experiment with other drawing options. • Build on what you've learned. • Save your drawing.

  7. Advantages and Disadvantages of AutoCAD : Advantages : • Accurate and Reduces Errors • Save Time & Money • Easier Data Transfer Disadvantages : • Limited File Formats • Non-Parametric • Color, Fill and Texture
