  3. ABOUT UNIVERSITY  Saurashtra University is a NAAC grade A university. The university houses state-of-the-art facilities and is among the best university in Gujrat. Moreover, the university is the first in India to appoint a full- time coordinator. The university is a result of continuous demands for an independent university in Rajkot. Presently the university has jurisdiction over Amreli, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surendranagar, and Morbi districts. The university is a result of the adamant demand of some stalwarts and freedom fighters of the Surashtra region.As soon as Gujrat was created the demand for the university saw new light and thus the demand became more vigorous. With rising demands lastly the Saurashtra university Act was passed in 1965. After two years of passing the act, the university came into existence.  It is notable that Indian Philanthropist Late. Dipchand S. Gardi majorly contributed to the building of the university. In its early stage, the university received as many as 4 cores Indian rupees for its developmental works.

Above all, the rooms have attached bathrooms and AC. Moreover, the hostel facility is available for both girls and boys.  The canteen provides not only fresh but also wholesome meals.
