  1. Veneers are wafer-thin shells that are placed over the front of teeth to improve their look and protect them from harm. They give them a very beautiful smile. We can change the length, size, colour, form, and function of tooth-coloured shells which are adhere to your teeth. Veneers are a cosmetic dental treatment which is done by following proper procedure to improve the appearance of your teeth. You will get an aesthetic appearance after using these dental veneers. 2. There are 4 types of dental veneers which are as follows: 1.Porcelain Veneers: The most prevalent material for veneers is porcelain. They’re tooth-coloured, adaptable, and fully bespoke, and they’ll last for 10 to 15 years. Porcelain veneers, unlike composite veneers, are constructed of ceramic components and are more staining resistant. When porcelain veneers were first developed, the procedure’s main benefit was how conservative and less invasive it was. This is due to the fact that good shell implantation requires very little preparation. Full restorative operations, such as dental crowns, are an exception, which is why veneers are a preferred alternative. Your dentist will colour correct and contour the remaining healthy enamel surface by 0.5 mm or more before placing the porcelain veneers. The native tooth is then replaced with a bonding agent and a porcelain shell. If the tooth has very dark discolorations, opaques may be used. A patient can choose from more than 15 different porcelain hues. 2. Composite Veneers: Porcelain veneers can be replaced with composite resin veneers for a more natural look. They’re constructed of the same substance as cavity fillings that are tooth-coloured.

  3. Porcelain veneers are slightly more expensive than composite veneers. They can normally be produced in a short amount of time, making them a same-day therapy option. Instead of being sculpted in a dental laboratory, direct composite veneers (composite bonding) are sculpted directly on the teeth. Composite veneers, like porcelain veneers, require tooth recontouring prior to installation. In addition, composite veneers can be applied directly to uncut enamel. They usually last 5 to 7 years, whereas porcelain veneers might last up to 15 years. Porcelain is more conservative than composite. The chipped region can be restored when composite chips. Porcelain chips necessitate the replacement of the complete veneer. 3. Lumineers: Lumineers are a brand of ultra-thin (0.2 mm) and transparent veneers. They are even more accurate than porcelain veneers in terms of the shape and colour of natural tooth enamel. Because Lumineers are so thin, no tooth reduction or recontouring is required. They can last up to 20 years, but porcelain veneers only last 10 to 15 years. Despite their convenience, they are more likely to chip than standard veneers, resulting in a shorter lifespan.

  4. 4. Removable Veneers: Traditional veneers are more invasive, permanent, and expensive. Removable veneers (custom-made snap-on) are less invasive, non-permanent, and less expensive. Upper and lower moulds are formed of a patient’s teeth and can be removed at any time, similar to clear aligners. Despite the fact that composite and porcelain veneers have a lengthy lifespan, they are not guaranteed to last for 5 to 15 years. Because dentists must remove a portion of the tooth’s enamel, permanent veneers, also known as temporary veneers, are irreversible. The use of removable veneers does not necessitate tooth reduction. Non-permanent veneers, on the other hand, might be painful, don’t fit in as well with your natural teeth, and need to be updated frequently.
