  1. ADANI INTRODUCES HYDROGEN-POWERED TRUCKS IN MINING LOGISTICS

  2. The Adani Group has recently flagged off India’s first hydrogen-powered truck for mining logistics. This has been done as a major boost towards sustainable energy transport from the Adani coal mines. With this step, the Adani Group takes a strategic leap in sustainable mining logistics and green hydrogen adoption. The Adani Chhattisgarh project also further highlights the Adani Group’s deep focus on paving the path towards sustainability while bringing about industrial development in the country.

Adani’s Initiative Towards Promoting Sustainability In Its Mining Operations: In an attempt towards bringing about extraordinary transformation to India’s clean energy and logistics sector, Adani Enterprises, which happens to be the flagship company of the Adani Group, has recently flagged off an industrial transport. This heavy-duty hydrogen fuel-driven truck is equipped with highly advanced forms of technology. It has a range of 200 km and can carry up to 40 tons of cargo. This vehicle was deployed at the Gare Pelma coal block in Chhattisgarh. It will operate in the Adani logistics chain. The vessel will carry coal from the mining sites to the state’s thermal power plant.

This recent Adani Chhattisgarh project is a collaboration between Adani Natural Resources (ANR) and Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL). Both these companies are subsidiaries of Adani Enterprises. ANR is responsible for overseeing the company’s mining operations, while green hydrogen-based projects are taken off by ANIL. These companies together help support Adani Group’s aim towards building a vertically integrated clean energy ecosystem. ANIL also has a major part in bringing about various developments in solar, wind, and battery technology. The company is committed to decarbonisation initiatives.

  5. Why Promote The Use Of Green Hydrogen Trucks? The green hydrogen truck program directly aligns with our country’s goal of reducing crude oil dependence, reducing emissions, and bolstering energy security. Presently, hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. It only releases water vapour and air when used as fuel. This eliminates particulate matter and CO2 emissions completely. In the mining context, this happens to be a game-changer. It can help cut down on diesel dependency, especially in remote operations.
