  2. Chemical Splash Eye - Introduction What is Chemical Splash Eye? A chemical burn is an injury that occurs when a liquid, such as fresh concrete or hand sanitizer, or a powder chemical comes into contact with the eye. The injury is most common when a chemical is sprayed on the face. Chemical burns can also happen when you rub your eyes after handling a chemical.

  3. Chemical Splash Eye -Symptoms Symptoms of a chemical eye burn include:- Severe eye pain Eye redness Watery eyes (epiphora) Eyelid spasms (blepharospasm) Visual acuity problems

  4. Chemical Splash Eye – Causes Common Causes:- Chemical eye burns can be caused by everyday household products like laundry detergent and hydrogen peroxide that accidentally splash or rub into your eyes. Non-toxic products like soap or sunscreen can cause eye irritation without causing permanent eye damage. On the other hand, chemicals like drain cleaner can cause serious eye burns that can lead to permanent vision loss even after just a few minutes of contact. Here are some of the most common household items that cause chemical eye burns: If a chemical gets into your eye, flush it with water or eye wash and seek emergency medical treatment immediately.

  5. Chemical Splash Eye– Prevention Some tips for preventing chemical eye burns include:- Don't put personal care products near your eyes, and don't spray sunscreen directly on them. Keep your eyes safe from household chemicals by wearing safety glasses or a face shield when working with them. Make sure to read the labels on any chemicals you use, and when possible, switch out more hazardous cleaners like ammonia for more gentle ones. Don't breathe in fumes either - they can damage your eyes. Don't mix chemicals that shouldn't be mixed, and work in a well-ventilated area.

  6. Chemical Splash Eye – Take Caution Caution taken :- Do not rub the eye. This may worsen the condition. Do not put anything in the eye except water and contact lens saline. Do not apply eye drops unless advised to do so by emergency personnel.

  7. Chemical Splash Eye – Take Action If a chemical splashes into your eye, take these steps immediately:- In order to flush an affected eye, one should first flush it with water, which should be kept at a lukewarm temperature for a minimum of 15 minutes. Then, the affected eye should be held open, with the head turned to the side and the affected eye held open under a running tap. Alternatively, the affected eye may be directed to the bridge of one's nose. For young children, a gentle flow of water may be used in the shower or on the forehead or bridge of both eyes. After the flush, the chemical should be removed from the hands, followed by a thorough rinse to ensure there is no residue of chemical or soap. Finally, contact lenses should be removed if they are not removed during the flush.

  8. Chemical Eye - When To Seek Medical Advice Seek emergency medical assistance if :- Once you’ve done all of the above, go to your local emergency department or call 911. You’ll need to take the container or the chemical’s name with you. If you can, wear sunglasses. Your eyes will be affected by light. WhatsApp Us On +91-9999665959
