  1. Top 5 Basic tips of First Aid Basic first aid training refers to the initial process of addressing the needs of someone who has been injured or physiological distress due to a heart attack, allergic reactions, choking, drugs or other medical emergencies. Basic first aid allows you to immediately determine a person physical condition and the correct course of treatment. You should always seek expert medical help as soon as you are able, but following correct first aid, methods can be the difference between life and death. 1. Check the surroundings Evaluate the situation. Are you or the victim threatened by the fire, toxic smoke or gasses, an unstable building, live electrical wires or another dangerous scenario? Do not hurry into a situation where you could end up as a victim yourself. If threatening the victim will endanger your life, seek professional help immediately; they have higher levels of training and know how to handle those situations. First aid becomes useless if you can't be able to perform it without hurting yourself safely. 2. Call for help. If someone is with you, tell them to call the authorities and be able to deliver information to them so they can update the responders. It is not advised that you leave the casualty unless required but put them in the recovery position if you have to go them for any reason

  2. 3. Caring for an Unconscious Person If a person is an unconscious situation, try to wake them by speaking to them. If they do not respond to activity, sound, touch, or other stimulation, determine whether they are breathing. If unconscious and unable to be awakened, check for breathing look for a rise in the chest listen for the sound of air coming in and out. If there is no signs of breathing are seeing, place your two fingers under the chin and smoothly guide the face pointing upwards to open up their airways. If any detritus such as vomit can be seen, it is appropriate to move them on their side to allow it to get out. If the person remains unresponsive: 1. Keep the head and neck aligned. 2. Roll them onto their back while holding their head. 3. Open the airway by lifting the chin. 4. Help someone having a heart attack It helps to know the signs of heart attack, which include rapid heartbeat, pressure or pain in the chest. Rush the person to the hospital immediately while giving them an nitroglycerin or aspirin, which the person should chew. 5. Help a choking victim Choking can cause death or brain damage within minutes. Read this section for ways to help a choking victim. This addresses helping both children and adult choking victims. One of the ways to helping a choking victim is the Heimlich maneuver. The Heimlich maneuver is performed by straddling the victim from behind and bear-hugging them with the hands interlocked above their belly-button but beneath their breastbone. Thrust upward to expel air from the lungs and repeat until you are satisfied in clearing the object from the windpipe.
