  6. The collaboration with 19 UK universities with the aim of enhancing female participation in STEM sectors, especially from the Americas, South Asia and South East Asia. British Council launched a scholarship scheme in Eligibility Criteria The applicant should be a citizen or resident of the eligible countries in the Americas, South Asia and East Asia. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka nationals can apply from South Asian countries. • The candidate must take up a full-time course to study in the UK (Sept/Oct 2021 – 2022) and should also provide proof showing that the student needs financial support to study in the country. • The applicant should have the capability to obtain the required English proficiency level now or upon completion of a pre-sessional English course. • The council expects the student to be passionate in their chosen field of study and the interest must be demonstrable with or without work experience. • The applicant should also express her commitment to be a British Council scholarship alumni. • 6 © AH&Z Associates Ltd. 2021
