  1. What are the three types of metal fabrication?

  2. Mental fabrication is an important activity that involves a set of processes. It involves cutting, manipulating, and assembling. They are used to produce metal structures. Metal fabrication is useful in creating various products such as panels, roofs, automotive frames, fuselage panels, and many more. • Various metal fabrication companies use different methods and techniques. Though there are various methods, the basic three processes are cutting, bending, and assembling. If you want to know about these fundamental processes that are used for metal fabrication in Adelaide, then this blog will be useful for you.

  3. Cutting • The first process of metal fabrication is cutting. In this process, one or more pieces of raw metal are cut for making a new metal structure or product. Whether it’s steel, aluminum, iron, or any other common type of metal, though, cutting metal requires special tools. • Metal fabrication companies use various tools to cut metal pieces. For example, a torch is used for cutting metal, and other numerical control (CNC) machines involve lasers or water jets. After the cutting process, the company will have clean, appropriate-sized sheets or sections of metal with which to work.

  4. Bending • After cutting the raw metal, metal fabrication companies must bend it. Again, there are many ways to bend metal after cutting it. Some metal fabrication companies use hammers to bend the metal sheets or sections into the desired shape. Hammering can be done manually, by hand, or it can be done using a machine (power hammering). • Recently, metal fabrication companies have started using new tools, such as press brakes to bend them. They are heavy industrial machines that automatically press metal sheets and sections into a particular shape. It clamps the metal between a punch die, forcing the metal into the desired shape.

  5. Assembling • The third and final process of metal fabrication is assembling. As the name suggests, this process involves assembling metal sheets or sections into the desired finished product. • Assembling is typically performed via welding. There are several other processes that are also included in the fabrication process. • For example, along with welding, metal fabrication companies may crimp seams, or apply screws and fasteners, or glue.

  6. After assembling the metal, the product gets finalized before shipping and selling to its customers. • It is said that metal fabrication is a driving force in the manufacturing sector. Although there are several machines and techniques used by metal fabrication companies, the three processes; cutting, bending, and assembling are important.
