  2. The rulers and Kingdoms of India had created many magnificent structures, which are the representation of fine artwork and architecture. In the northern part of India, there are many marvelous and gigantic monuments made by the Indian Kings, that till today are a pride for the nation. Tourists from all over the world come to India to view the endless beauty of this region. To boost tourism in India. The Indian Railway collaborate with Tourism development cooperation launched a super luxury tourist train called the “Palace on Wheels”.

  3. In the year 2010, the Palace on Wheels was voted as the fourth luxurious train in the world. Each compartment is decorated with cultural representations through furniture, handicrafts, and paintings. Famous interior designer, Monica Khanna, designed the interiors of the train. Palace on Wheels comprises of 23 coaches. Each coach is named after the Rajput dynasty such as Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Dholpur, Dungargarh, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jodhpur etc. The train has two restaurants including the Maharaja and the Maharani with a Rajasthani atmosphere and theme. The train follows the golden triangle route that is Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan and again back to Delhi. The train takes minimum 7 to 8 days to complete the tour. The total capacity of the train is 104 passengers. People can explore the Moghul architectural of old Delhi, including historical monuments like the Red Fort and the Jama Masjid and also the ethereal Taj Mahal (one of the seven wonders of the world) in Agra.

  4. The train then enters the most colorful state of India –Rajasthan. Pink city, Jaipur, has a huge hilltop fort, Udaipur and Bikaner offer mesmerizing monuments and a spellbound experience for the visitor. The tourists have many shopping options like purchasing cultural jewelry, leather handicrafts, blue pottery and many more handmade pieces of art. The authentic Rajasthani food thali is an overall different experience for the tourist.
