  1. Demand for Pyrogen Testing techniques has Witnessed a regular growth during the past decade as a result of increasing prevalence of major infectious diseases and epidemics The Pyrogen Testing does on rabbits is depend on the measurement of the rising in the rabbit's temperature upon being injected with an item that could contain a contaminant of the pyrogen type. The pyrogens, as their name suggests, refer to all the substances that cause a rise in fever, also known as pyrexia. The rabbit pyrogen test requires the injection of a little amount of batched test material in to a, monitoring for temperature increases and rabbit's blood stream. Pyrogen Testing is completed to check the presence or lack of pyrogens in every aqueous parenterals. Rabbits are accustomed to perform the test because their body temperature increases when pyrogen is introduced by the parenteral route. For this test, three healthy rabbits are selected each weighing at the least 1.5 kg. Animals are employed for Pyrogen Testing because rabbit pyrogen test (RPT) has been used since the 1940s. In this test, rabbits are restrained and injected with an examination substance while their body temperature is monitored for changes that suggest the substance could be contaminated with pyrogens.
