Some other program is causing hindrance and interfering with QuickBooks. Damaged or corrupted or missing QBWUSER.INI file. The company name is longer than allowed in QuickBooks. There are some installation errors. Windows OS or program files are damaged.

Then, on Windows Start button, click on All Programs and right-click in QuickBooks. Press Ctrl and open the application. This is to ensure that any sectors on the hard drive aren’t interrupting QuickBooks performance. Press Windows + E and right-click the C drive. Under the Tool tab, select Properties > Check now. Find the Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check boxes and select them. Press Start.

  6. Step 3: Using the Install Diagnostic Tool Run the clean install and diagnostic tool from the tool hub by following the given steps – Go to Installation Issues and select the Clean Install tool. Choose your current QuickBooks version from the appeared Install Utility window. Let the process complete and then, again go to Installation Issues and select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool. Let it run. Reboot the system.

Enable all hidden files and folders and open the folder which contains the QBWUSER.INI file. Now, go to this path – Location:\Users\[Your user name]\AppData\Local\Intuit\[Your QuickBooks version] Rename the file by adding .OLD at the end. Then rename the EntitlementDataStore.ecml file. Try opening the sample company file and then check the company file. If the company file does not open, copy it to another location and try opening it. If it opens now, it means the old file location was damaged.
