  1. Never Taken Domestic Flights Before? Here are 4 Tips That Will Help

  2. Flying for the first time is definitely an exciting experience and one you will always remember. However, since you are new to this, it is quite natural to make mistakes along the way. Do not worry - this article aims to help first-time flyers like you who are going on their first domestic flights. • So, take a look at 4 of the following tips before taking a domestic flight.

  3. Book your tickets well in advance • With online bookings becoming so common, buying tickets for domestic flights is no big deal. However, you have to play it smart to get the cheapest flight tickets. One effective way to get the best ticket rates is to book your flight ticket in advance. Ideally, you should book your flight ticket at least 3 months in advance. This is because a lot of people hurry and book their tickets last-minute, and the flight ticket prices could get very expensive. Buying your ticket early will also put you at ease knowing that your flight booking is confirmed.

  4. Make sure to register your mobile number with the airline • We all know that changes in the flight schedules are quite frequent. Now if you are a first-time flyer, you would not want to be stuck due to any change of plans. While you cannot do anything about the schedule changes of domestic flights, you can certainly stay updated about these changes. You should always register your mobile number with the airline that you are flying with. This is because if in case there is any change in the flight schedule, the airline will keep you informed by sending a text message on your phone.

  5. Avoid overpacking for your trip • A lot of us have a habit of overpacking for a trip. However, this might be unnecessary for domestic flights. Just figure out the number of clothes you really need and avoid stuffing your suitcase. Always check the luggage weight your airline is permitting. This is so that you can avoid any extra charges for overweight luggage. Also, there are certain things that airlines do not permit in your hand baggage, so make sure to check these things before heading to the airport.

  6. Plan to reach the airport on time • There are too many cases of travellers missing their domestic flights because of not reaching the airport on time. Make sure you do not face the same problems by reaching the airport at least an hour before your flight is supposed to take off. Car breakdowns and traffic jams are frequent occurrences, so leave a little earlier just to be safe. Inform your driver about the terminal your flight is supposed to depart from so that there are no detours at the last minute. There is no harm in reaching the airport much before time even if there are no roadblocks along the way. • Now that you have read these pointers, you are all set to soar. Have a safe flight!
