  1. Flying International for the First Time? Here Are 5 Things to Remember

  2. Flying internationally can be an overwhelming experience, especially if it is your first time. Besides the excitement, there is also a slight pressure to ensure that you have prepared for everything. Whether it is booking at the right time, packing for the flight, or reaching the airport on time, we go to great lengths to make sure that everything goes all right at each step. To help you prepare better and give you a more satisfying travel experience, we list down 5 things that you should remember when flying on international flights.

  3. Make preparations to keep yourself occupied • International flights can take up to several hours. When travelling through a long flight, you do not want to be sitting by yourself, all bored. That is why it is necessary to make preparations to keep yourself occupied or entertained throughout the flight. You can bring along a book, listen to the music available, or read some in-flight magazines to make good use of your time. Airlines operating international flights also have in-flight entertainment options which you can avail from as per your choice.

  4. Bring your sleeping gear • Packing for international flights can be a tiring process, so it is natural that you would want to get some rest when you are free. You can bring along a neck pillow as well as a sleep mask to create a comfortable resting experience for yourself. Some airlines even allow you to bring along shawls and blankets on board. So, do check with your airline if such items are allowed.

  5. Make sure that your passport is always accessible • When taking care of the other important things, sometimes we tend to forget the basic things. You would be surprised to know how many times even experienced travellers need minutes to search for their passports when it is asked for. Therefore, you should make sure that your passport is stored in a place easily accessible to you. Your passport is one of the most important documents required for your trip, so also ensure that the passport is kept in a safe place as well.

  6. Check the baggage allowance of the airline • The baggage allowance would differ airline to airline. Before you start preparing for any international flights, it is necessary to know the baggage allowance for the airline you are planning to take. You can get to know the information on their website or you may even reach out to the airline operating international flights and ask them about the same.

  7. Get to know your layover details • Travelling to international destinations often means having a connecting flight in between. Before you book any international flights that have a layover in between, do make it a point to note down the details of that layover so that there is no last-minute panic for you. Check how much time the layover is expected to take. Also, calculate the time it would take for you to go from one gate to another at the layover airport. You can also contact your airline provide for the same.  • The most important thing to ensure when flying on international flights is to be well-aware about flight rules and regulations. If you have any doubts regarding any particular issue, you can reach out to your airline service provider and get clarification.
