2. About Us DANISH DESIGN SINCE 1975 AND STILL COUNTING Duckfeet has its headquarters in Denmark, where the shoes have been designed for the past 45 years. It all started in 1975, when the Wiechmann couple founded the company. Sønderjylland was the stronghold of shoe production in Denmark. Women sat at home sewing shafts, which were later assembled at facturies, so it was a natural decision for Inga and Claus to start their business in Skærbæk, Denmark.

3. The first models they designed, were the Jylland and Sjælland models, and both models are still sold to this day without any modifications to the design. In fact, the pattern for the shoes hasn't changed since 1975. Foot-shaped shoes and full-grain leather were the trends of the time, which is why they made the decision to follow the trend. Duckfeet earned great success throughout the 1970s and 1980s, both in Denmark, and also in Germany, where the foot-shapes style quickly became known as "Entenschuhe", which literally translates to "duck shoes". As time passed by, production of the shoes moved from Denmark to Poland, which has a long tradition in shoe crafting. As fashion shifted throughout the 1980, the original Danish duck feet style shoes with the flag printed on the side, faced some hard times. What was once a household item with every manufacturer in the 1970s, was dropped from production, and only Duckfeet has retained the easily recognizable yellow duck feet shaped design and leather craftmanship. Wiema Sko ApS was acquired by Vibeke Dissing in 2004. Vibeke was delighted to continue production of the first quality Duckfeet in the original, exquisite Danish design.
