  3. 1. Conditionsofuse ● Roll top cover is made from aluminium, plastics, andrubber. To ensure a smooth operation, it’s advised to followthismanual. ● The Roll top cover has been designed for normal driving conditions on roads. The lightweight designisnotsuitableforextremeusage. ● Temperaturerange:-30 to+80degreesCelsius. ● The purpose of the Roll top cover is to cover the bed from rainand dirt.Itcanwithstand rainwater. In the tailgate area, there can be water ingress due to lack of sealing. Dust can also enter the compartment through various gaps around the tailgatearea,othersealingsetc. ●

Conditionsofuse ● Roll top is made of aluminium profiles that heat up and cool down relatively according to weather conditions. condensationontheinsideoftheprofile. ● The Roll top cover is not designed for loading although it can support normal snow loads. No part of it can support any load from cargo or persons. The product might be damaged if somebodystandsonit. ● Roll top is “NOT” 100% waterproof but offers good protection against the elements. It is weather-resistant, meaning there can be some waterpenetration. ● If the Roll top cover is closed and has water, snow, ice or dirt on the cover, it might enter into the bed as the cover retracts. To avoid this, clean offthetopsurfaceofthecoverpriortoopening. This can cause

  5. 2.Warnings ● ● ● ● ● Do notdrivewithpersonsundertheRolltopcover. Do notallowpersonsoranimalstostayinthebedwhenthecoveris closed. Temperaturescanbe veryhighunderthecoverwhenclosed. Thepullstrapshouldnotbeusedtotiedowncargo. Do not disassemble the main shaft from the canister without relieving the spring tension completely. Removefingersfromlamellaswhenopeningandclosing. We do not recommend washing the Roll top cover in a brushless car wash, as the coating maybedamagedduetotheuseofchemicals. Wash the UTE roll top cover regularly using normal car shampoo and a soft, lint-free cloth orbrush. If washed in any carwash, or if any chemicals are used on the Roll top cover, please ensure a maxPHvalueof8isused. ● ● ● ●

Functions To opentheRoll top cover: ● Makesure theRolltopcoveris unlocked. ● Pull back on the handle, and press down on the lock cylinder. ● UsethepullstraptogentlyopentheRolltopcover. ● To move thecover forward to an open position requires the use of the locking function, although the cover can be moved rearwards to the closing position without operatingthe lockingfunction.

  7. 4.LockingSystem ● TheRolltopCoverfeaturesalockingsystemwithmultiplelockingpointsalongwith theprofiles. ● Whenthelockingsystemisengaged,theRolltopcoverwilllockinthese4positions: a) b) c) d) Fullyopen 2/3open 1/3open Fullyclosed. TofullyopentheRolltopcover,thelockingsystemmustbedisengaged. Totogglethelockingsystem,pullthestrapeither left(engage)or right(disengage). When the Roll top cover is fully opened, a lock activator is automatically triggered, engaging the lockingsystem. For the Roll top cover to close correctly, the locking system must be engaged before the cover is closed. ● ● ● ●

  8. 5.Springadjustment ● The mainspring is positioned in the main shaft in the canister. The spring tension has been adjustedby deliveryandisreadytouse. ● Spring tension can easily be adjusted. At the right side of the canister end piece, there is a pinion. Toadjustthe tension: a. Pressthepinioninwardtoreleasethelockingmechanism.Useasmallwrenchwithan8mmkey. b. While maintaining pressure on the pinion, adjust clockwise to increase spring tension and make theRolltopcoveropenfaster. c. While maintaining pressure on the pinion, adjust anticlockwise to reduce spring tension and maketheRolltopcoveropenslowly. WARNING!! - The mainspring may cause injury if the canister is opened without relieving the spring tension. WARNING!! - Do not tighten the spring with a force higher than 7 Nm, and no lower than 5 Nm, as the springmight getdamaged.

  9. 6.Maintenance i)GeneralCleaning ● The Roll cover should be cleaned on a regular basis using waterwithnormalcarshampoo. ● Drains should be cleaned often to assure the proper function of watermanagement. ● When cleaning, use a soft, lint-free cloth or brush. Rinse soap foam off thoroughly with fresh water, and dry with a cleancloth. ● It is vital that any other chemicals such as petrol, strong alkalineoracidareNOTusedonthe surface. ● Do not use abrasive cleaning tools such as steel wool, hard brushes, abrasivescourers. ● They may damage the coating surface and change the colour orglosslevelsofthefinish.

  10. 6.Maintenance ii)Cleaningthecanister ● Thecanistershouldbecleanedatleastonceayearremovingdirtanddebris. ● The lid over the canister needs to be removed for this operation and should be carefully reassembled. ● Takecarenottolosetheplasticscrewcaps. ● Removethe6screwsonthelid.Takecarenottolosethem. ● Removethelid. ● Removedirtanddebrisfromthecanister. ● Reassemblethelid.

  11. iii)Lubrication ● Thelockshouldbe lubricatedregularlyusing asuitablelocklubricant. ● Seals and side profiles should be cleaned and lubricated regularly using silicon oil or something similar. iv)Clamps ● Theclampsshouldbe positionedcorrectlyandre-tightenedto8Nm. ● Thisshouldbedoneat1000 kmafterfirstuse. ● Checkallscrewconnectionsandfasteningsofroll-topcover,tightenoradjustifnecessary. ● Checkagainatregularintervals.
