She has adopted and raised more than 1400 orphaned children and is helping them stand on their feet and fulfill their dreams. She has been awarded the Padma Shri in 2021 in the Social Work category.

She was also awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal for meritorious service in 2016, and the Digital Women Award 2017 for bringing in a digital transformation in the road safety and traffic department.

  7. Kamalbhai Parmar Kamalbhai Parmar, the creator of Footpath Shaala has turned into a living god for slum kids in Ahmedabad as he made them attend school. But these kids look forward the most to the after-school hours as Kamalbhai Parmar spends his evenings helping the kids with their studies. It is because of his efforts, 150 kids in the region are not just literate but educated.

  8. Dr. Prakash Amte Dr. Prakash Amte is renowned for his works for tribal development, that include a wide variety of services to communities in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. His project, Lok Biradari Prakalp, gave birth to a residential school, hospital and an orphanage for injured wild animals. He has personal experience in rearing a variety of wildlife animals ranging from leopards and bears to the deadliest of snakes.

  9. Rajesh Kumar Sharma Rajesh Kumar Sharma has been teaching hundreds of slum children under a bridge near the Yamuna Bank Metro Depot for the last six years. Also known as Masterji, Rajesh Kumar Sharma runs his unique ‘under the bridge’ school that has no building. Here the children sit on mats, while teachers use plastic chairs.
