IWOCS reels can be designed with as many hydraulic connections as needed for the operation of the necessary hydraulic control functions as well as monitoring and testing during installation, intervention, and workover of subsea completion equipment. • IWOCS are also used to control subsea tree functions and the LMRP/BOP control system.   6. Reel Power Oil & Gas Smart Reel Constant Tension (Patent Pending) feature automatically adjusts the reel tension as the umbilical is deployed, allowing the reel to function independently. This feature also monitors the reel's speed and detects if it is moving faster than the riser or wireline. When this speed differential occurs, the reel will automatically engage the clutches and brakes, effectively stopping the umbilical in the event of an over-payout (See Smart Reel product for more information).
