  1. Everything You Need To Know About Super Visa Application & Renewal Canadian super visa is a multiple entry super visa that lasts for up to 10 years. These visas are also known as the parent and grandparent super visas introduced by the government of Canada to facilitate the parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to stay in Canada for up to 2 years at a time and for a maximum period of up to 10 years. In these 2 years, the parents and grandparents do not need to apply for a visa extension. However, the parents and grandparents must be sponsored by their Canadian child or grandchild. These types of visas are different from Canadian visitor’s visas. On a visitors visa, the visitors are allowed to stay in Canada for a period of up to 6 months. In order to stay for more time, the visitors need to apply for a visa extension. Whereas Canadian super visas are only available to the parents and grandparents of the permanent residents of Canada and the visas are valid for at least 2 years without extension. In order to apply for the Canadian super visa, the applicants need to prepare their documents that include a letter of invitation from the children and grandchildren, proof of minimum necessary income, proof of a medical insurance policy provided by a Canadian insurance company, and a document for medical examination. Super visa holders can stay in Canada for up to 2 years without extension. However, in order to stay in Canada for more than 2 years, they need to apply for a Super visa renewal. For Super visa renewal, the applicants must submit their extension application within 30 days from the expiration of the current visa status.
