  1. Elaborating on 5 Goals from Integrated planning & implementation for punjab Growth never leads to equity and when we talk about inclusive growth it is important to understand that inclusive growth cannot be reached only by the redistribution of the gains. Any inclusive policy with regards to growth must include the conditions where historically disadvantaged groups can participate in this process. They also must have access to proper livelihood, assets, investments and jobs. With this perspective in mind an integrated and implementation for Punjab took place where goals were prioritized in their vision 2030. The sustainable development goals usually are a set of goals accepted globally that brings together environmental, economic and social aspects of development. Therefore, even the strategic action plan of Punjab has been divided into 4 pillars that includes 3 elements: redistributive sustainable development, inclusive growth of society and productive engagement of all citizens. The action plan agenda of 2030 is to integrate and interconnect the economic, social and environmental goals that just extend beyond the short-term goals of the state. The punjab government has been operating with strategic vision, priorities and implementation of various goals.

  2. Goal 1: Achieving No poverty by 2030 Their first goal is to eradicate poverty completely and in all forms by 2030. This not only entails lifting the earnings from the official poverty line but also completing it in such a manner that it also considers various economic and social circumstances of children, women and other sensitive groups of the society. This involves placing of safety nets, making sure that these groups have access to economic resources of the state through various ventures, creating direct investments in sensitive areas and lastly creating techniques to mitigate any disaster. Goal 2: Zero hunger under the age of 5 Their next goal of strategic sdg action plan 2030 is to eradicate all forms of malnutrition and hunger from society and any structural factor which is contributing to the same. The state aims at achieving the WHO target of 40% decrease in stunting in children (under 5) and 5% reduction of childhood wasting. Goal 3: Providing Good health and well-being The next SDG is to ensure good health and well-being of the state that actually begins with the eradication of under-5, neonatal, and maternal death rates. The state can ensure proper health of all the citizens only by eradicating the major communicable diseases and other tropical illnesses that occur. There is a strong need to lower the incidence of non-communicable diseases. This also entails in preventing the road deaths and injuries, substance addiction and deaths that take place because of poor hygiene, water, food and air pollution. The state must attain inexpensive medications and immunizations, health risk education, proper health financing, and proper management techniques to achieve all of the above. Goal 4: Providing High Quality Education Good quality education is the mainstay for the long-term development of any state. This actually promotes proper economic growth, cooperation between communities and proper social mobility. Even after this, many states undergo a continuous struggle to offer the students free and good quality primary and secondary education, a problem that needs to be addressed immediately. Good quality education means providing equal access to all the stages for all genders, with any aptitude level and among all social groups. The state must also provide unified proficiency in literacy and numeracy skills. The state must also ensure that the kids and adults are provided with the proper skills that make it easier for them to compete in the job market.

  3. Goal 5: Providing Gender equality The state of Punjab is committed to attaining proper gender equality in all the spheres of life both through its policies and through constitutional acts. The state supports all India campaigns like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Gender Budgeting, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, One Stop Scheme, and Janani Suraksha Yojana to achieve the above goal. The state also wishes to bring a change in the Wage gap between males and females, determining the sex before birth, controlling domestic violence, educating the population on family planning, bringing women forward in leadership roles, minimizing the ratio of labour force of men and women. Punjab being a predominantly agrarian state has a total land area of 50.4 lakh ha, where approximately 82% of that is agricultural land. Hence, the state needs to protect and provide for its agroecosystem for the long-term sustainability project. It also needs to develop and refine the water saving technology of the state. It needs to improve the micro-irrigation system, bring in the technology for the proper use of brackish water, implement a policy that prevents installation of deep tubewells in overused areas and plant salt tolerant crops or trees for proper biodrainage in punjab strategic sdg action plan.
