  1. PHD Full Form: PhD stands for Doctor of Philosophy; it is a doctoral degree that will be presented to the candidate if he finishes the course in three years. However, the candidates can take up to 6 yrs to finish the course.    PhD is considered the highest level of academic degree in terms of educational qualification. After completing a PhD, candidates can aim for next-generation research and scientists.  A phD is also called a DPhil in some countries, but in India, it is the PhD. Candidates who complete the PhD in their favourite subject can add Dr, before their name. This will be only possible after doing years of research and study.
