  3. When using this measurement, electricity is fed into the soil via two electrodes. Two further electrodes measure the resulting voltage drop at speci?c measuring points in order to determine the ?nal soil resistance. This measuring method is used to detect underground water resources, hidden cavities or barriers in the ground. In active measurements you can de?ne an individual depth range in which your measured values are determined. This sets a start and end depth between 5 m (16 feet) and 250 m (820 feet). Here, too, electrical current is fed into the ground in order to measure the voltage drop and to determine the speci?c ground resistance. Passive measurement During a passive measurement, the GeoSeeker only uses two electrodes to measure the naturally occurring voltage of the ground (no current is delivered into the ground). This mode is used to detect ?owing water underground. The GeoSeeker software application guides the user through the complete measurement with simple step-by-step instructions. You just follow the visual instructions until the measurement is ?nished. A graphical 3D representation is then calculated from the measured data and shown on the tablet PC display. Various color controls are available to optimize the graphic representation of underground water resources, water-bearing layers and groundwater levels (bluish) and also those of cavities, tunnels, chambers or barriers (reddish). The measurement electronics of the OKM GeoSeeker are installed in a waterproof and shock-resistant Peli case, ensuring that your equipment is always well protected and ready for transport.
