  1. Everything you must know about face safety shields Face shields are new to many of us because of the spread of novel coronavirus, but healthcare experts know them pretty well. From medical perspectives, they’re worn when the risks of toxic substances and fluids getting into the eyes, nostrils, and mouth are moderately high. But as the pandemic hit the world in 2019, you would have probably seen other front-line workers and even loved ones wearing face safety shields. “Face shields offer another layer of protection” to the person wearing them. These face shields are already a necessity for surgeons and their medical teams. And now, with COVID-19, the doctors and examination team or even intubating patients are wearing shields long with the masks for additional protection. How long can you use a single face shield? The CDC has recommended wearing disposable face shields once. But if you're wearing it generally, you can repeatedly use a non-disposable face shield as long as it's not warped, broken, or cracked. Kids, especially aged 5-10 years, must use face shield glasses for kids as while playing, there are high chances of falling where these shields will shield their face. If your face shield is broken, do not attempt to fix it. Dump it and get a new one, as face shields are moderately priced and simple to replace. If you are buying for kids, you can even buy them in bulk.

  2. The best method to clean a face shield at home To get surface contaminants off the face shield, submerge the protective panel in warm and soapy water. Gently scrub the surface with a soft sponge or tissue. Rinse & gently dry the face shield with a soft cotton/ microfiber towel. Clean the headpiece separately. It's likely to clean face safety shields with antibacterial wipes, but stay cautious as they can leave a residue. The user can also sanitize the face shield with 70% isopropyl alcohol sanitizer, spray, or wipes. If you think of using a window or household cleanser on the face shield, then don't. Harsh cleaners and detergents could potentially break it.
