  3. 1930s – 1940s Sommers survives the depression based on efficient use of resources and Charles and Rebecca’s personal integrity. Production shifts to militaryfabric to support the war effort. 1917 Charles Sommers assumes 50% share and management oversight in a Pennsylvania textile mill. Wife Rebecca takes over company finances. 1950sThe founders’ son, Lou Sommers, works his way up from sales to president, eventually succeeding Charlie. 1920 Diversification of product line and growth of customer base 1968Steve Sommers begins working on the factory floor in manufacturing and later, supervision.

  4. 1980s – 1990s Fiber Dynamics grows exponentially, expanding nonwoven fabric sales from US to Canada and Latin America. 1975 Steve founds his own textile sales and distribution business. 2000Sommers sells its narrow fabric manufacturing business to focus on manufacture and sales of nonwovens. 2019With manufacturing relationships at a number of the world’s most advanced nonwoven facilities, Sommers continues to add Fortune 500 firms to its customer list. 1979 Steve purchases his father’s narrow fabric manufacturing company and embarks on a period of product diversification and growth. 1984 Sommers purchases the Fiber Dynamics division of JP Stevens. 1997Jamison Sommers joins the team, a fourth generation in the Sommers’ family business. 2005Transitioning to its current format as a developer, converter and distributor of nonwoven fabrics, Sommers sells its manufacturing business. Consistent double-digit annual growth follows.

Executive Team SCOTT ANDERSON Vice President, Sales & Marketing Scott has spent over 22 years providing nonwoven media solutions to the automotive, filtration, construction, medical, technical specialties and general industrial markets worldwide. With Fiberweb, Johns Manville, and now Sommers Inc., Scott has developed strategic sales plans for a broad array of customers and markets. The breadth of his applications experience, his record of strong customer advocacy, and his sense of fair play and business ethics all dovetail naturally with the Sommers’ team. STEVEN (STEVE) SOMMERS President The third generation of the Sommers family in the textile business, Steve has spent his entire professional life manufacturing and distributing industrial fabrics. His passion for customer relations, engineering and product development keeps Sommers on the leading edge. He has worked with customers and vendors in dozens of countries, received multiple patents, and garnered recognition and awards from customers, industry associations and non-profits with which he shares his time. PATRICK STEAGALL Vice President, New Product Development Patrick has spent 28 years in the textile industry and 20 years focusing on developing and providing nonwoven solutions for applications in automotive, filtration, construction, furniture & bedding, medical, and many other industries. Patrick’s broad experience in nonwovens manufacturing, development, testing, sales, and distribution gives him the tools needed to provide Sommers’ customers with the right product for their unique applications.

Leadership Team JAMISON (JAMIE) SOMMERS Product Development, Sales, Management Jamie earned his BS in International Business from Florida Atlantic University, and began his career on the factory floor at Sommers in 1997.  He joined the sales force in 2000 and currently works closely with other members of the Sommers team on product development, account management, material trials and testing. YVETTE PINERO Manager, Operations & Customer Relations Yvette joined Sommers in 2002 and has since become a team leader excelling in all levels of organization and customer satisfaction. She follows through on commitments and is extremely disciplined building good relationships and trust from colleagues that work around her and across the organization.
