According to the American Cancer Society, 106,180 new cases of colon cancer and 44,850 new cases of rectal cancer will be diagnosed in the United States in 2022. Furthermore, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved encorafenib (Braftovi) for the treatment of certain colorectal cancer patients in May 2020. Treatment choices for colon and colorectal cancer are dependent on a variety of factors. These factors include the patient's anatomical location, stage of colon cancer, and overall and general health. Due to a lack of development in the neoadjuvant/adjuvant pipeline medicines for the treatment of high-risk colorectal cancer, the colon and rectal cancer market treatments grew more slowly. Surgery on the Colon Colon surgery is the most common and primary treatment for most people with colon cancer. Once the cancer has been found, surgery to remove that part of the colon is performed. After then, the remaining portions are reattached. The surgical excision of rectal cancer may be followed by chemotherapy and irradiation. Get to know better: bit.ly/3KAeLUK
