  1. Things you need to know about Cat6 RJ45 Connectors

  2. RJ45 Connectors are also called 8P8C connectors. RJ stands for registered jack and 45 refers to the listing number. 

  3. For shielded cables, you will use shielded connectors. Conversely, for unshielded cables, you will use unshielded connectors.

  4. Prong connectors are designed for stranded Ethernet cables Prong connectors are designed for solid Ethernet cables.

  5. When it comes to the outside, the dimensions are exactly the same (because of the requirement that an RJ45 plug has to be of this standard dimension so that it can fit into any standard RJ45 port).
