WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF IUI TREATMENT

For most couples, the first treatment that comes to their minds when they think of fertility treatment is In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Although IVF has revolutionized the science of fertility medicine since the first successful IVF procedure that resulted in pregnancy in the 1970s, there are many other treatments that might be more appropriate, depending on the cause of infertility. One of such treatments is Intrauterine Insemination or better known as IUI Treatment<br>

  1. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF IUI TREATMENT? For most couples, the first treatment that comes to their minds when they think of fertility treatment is In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Although IVF has revolutionized the science of fertility medicine since the first successful IVF procedure that resulted in pregnancy in the 1970s, there are many other treatments that might be more appropriate, depending on the cause of infertility. One of such treatments is Intrauterine Insemination or better known as IUI Treatment Also called artificial insemination, IUI is actually one of the very first types of fertility intervention procedures recorded, even before IVF. The first documented use of IUI was by John Hunter in London in the 1770s. From that instance when the semen was collected with the help of a warm syringe after coalition, modern medicine has advanced with leaps and made the IUI treatment much simpler and much easier. Now let us take a look at all the benefits of the IUI Procedure IS LESS INVASIVE In the IUI treatment, sperms are washed, concentrated, and then placed in a woman’s uterus via a catheter. There is no oocyte retrieval like IVF. As eggs don’t need to be removed from the body of the patient, the process is way less invasive for the partner that will be carrying during the pregnancy Also, unlike IVF which is harsh and aggressive enough that it might affect the quality of the egg, IUI treatment provides more gentle conditions to the patient. FOLLOWS NATURAL CYCLE

  2. As IUI is less invasive on the female body, it follows a natural cycle in comparison to other fertility treatments like IVF. Thus, IUI is possible to be performed with a natural cycle i.e. with low stimulation medication to stimulate follicles. HIGHER CHANCES OF PREGNANCY WHEN COMPARED TO REGULAR INTERCOURSE The IUI procedure assists the sperms to directly get near the egg. Unlike regular intercourse, the sperms shoot straight to the egg for fertilization as compared to regular sex where only the strongest and fastest sperm can travel to the cervical mucus and then to the uterus and fallopian tubes only after which it can get to the egg. WASHING PROCEDURE ENHANCES THE SPERM QUALITY The sperm washing procedure will remove prostaglandins, antigenic proteins, infectious agents, immature germ cells, non-motile spermatozoa, etc, as it negatively affects the quality of sperm. This procedure will also decrease the formation of free oxygen radicals after the preparation of sperm and ultimately enhance sperm quality. MORE POCKET FRIENDLY THEN IVF TREATMENT IUI procedure is less expensive than IVF. This makes it the most sorted and affordable option for many couples suffering from infertility. IUI costs around Rs. 3000 per cycle while the average cost of the In Vitro Fertilization treatment cycle costs around Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10000.

  3. THE TIME DURATION IS SHORT The duration of the IUI procedure takes only around 15 -20 minutes after which you will be advised to stay in the recovery room for another 20 minutes and then leave. THERE IS NO NEED FOR ANESTHESIA This procedure does not require going under anesthesia as it is not painful. subhagvsafe + Follow 0 Likes 0 Shares Comment Suggested Recent A
