  1. BSc Optometry Bachelor in Optometry (BSc Optometry) is a 4 year professional course which is divided into 8 semesters that trains students in different concepts related to eye diseases, diagnosis, treatment, etc. This course comprises of 3years education and 1year internship. It aims at providing thorough knowledge about each and every detail of methods and techniques used in eye diagnosis and treatment. It also helps in gaining information about the manufacturing and production of optical aids like spectacles, contact lens etc. An optometrist also consults an ophthalmologist to the concerned person if any kind of surgery or medical treatment is required. Students pursuing diploma in optometry are given theoretical as well as practical knowledge so as to train them effectively. Candidates are granted admission in this course directly or by qualifying an entrance exam conducted at State or University level. It must be noted that candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% with Science stream from a recognized university. Some students also pursue higher studies after doing the degree course. The degree holders are offered various job opportunities due to the dire need of optometrists in this field. This is one of the most promising professions. Every third person in this world wears spectacles or uses contact lenses. People also suffer from eye diseases which leads to a great demand of optometrist who are well trained. An Optometry degree holder can work in hospitals, eye clinics, optical chains etc. This is why B.Sc in optometrist is a lucrative course that offers stable career to the individuals.
