An ESL teacher instructs English language learners who want to learn the language or improve their speaking, reading and writing in English. All the teachers work with ESL students at all skill levels, from students who know only a few words to learners who want to become near-native speakers. ESL teachers need to understand the cultural differences and challenges their learners face to get the best learning outcomes. 2.Communication: To begin with, ESL teachers and students do not speak a word of each other's language, so you will need to be able to call upon your abilities for non- verbal communication. 3.Organization: Running an ESL classroom requires good management skills so you can move through lessons and prioritize them in sync with the unique learning style of each student. 4.Patience: Some of your students will inevitably struggle, while others may not even want to learn English, which can irritate them. An ESL teacher must have patience and keep composure.
