  1. 5 Delicious Green Smoothies PERFECTFORBREAKFASTORASASNACK + BONUS NATURAL WEIGHT LOSS REDUCES AND COMBATS CRAVINGS IMPROVES MENTAL CLARITY AND FOCUS Green smoothies reduce cravings for junk foods, unhealthy sweets, salt, and fats. After a few weeks, you will crave healthier foods such as fruits, vegetables, and greens. With a healthier diet comes greater mental clarity and focus. Green smoothies have replaced my morning coffee ritual. I get more energy! Replacing a meal each day with a green smoothie lowers overall calorie intake, while increasing fruit, vegetable, and fiber intake.

  2. INTRODUCTION Smoothies are a healthy breakfast or snack, perfect for taking on the go. Adding a big handful of fresh greens like spinach or kale amps up the nutrition while giving the drink a vibrant color. It's an easy way to get enough vegetable servings in a day since the naturally sweet fruit and juice provide most of the flavor. Even kids love a good green smoothie! When making smoothies at home, the key to success is quality ingredients and using the correct ratios. You'll need enough liquid (often juice or nut milk) to ensure that the blender will whirl the ingredients while maintaining a creamy consistency. Ice will turn your smoothie into a frosty treat, but you can also use frozen fruit. The sweeter the fruit, the sweeter the smoothie—extra ripe bananas can make your drink naturally sweet and creamy. And a high-quality blender is always a good idea and will have an easier time creating a blended drink. In most green smoothie recipes, spinach or kale can be used interchangeably. Fresh leafy greens work best since frozen greens can release too much water and sometimes add an undesirable flavor. Baby spinach is preferable to large leaf spinach since it is tender and blends easily. Curly leaf kale (with the stem completely removed) is the best kale for the job as it is also easier to blend. However, any type of raw spinach or kale will work as long the tough stems are removed.

  3. 1 BLUEBERRY AND SPINACH SUPERFOOD GREEN SMOOTHIE This smoothie is made with spinach and blueberries, along with bananas, and offers a powerful antioxidant boost. The spinach brings fiber, vitamin C, and plenty of protein, but if you wanted to give this drink even more of a protein boost, you could add some plant-based protein powder, hemp protein powder, or even just a handful of hemp seeds or hemp hearts. Unlike many smoothie recipes, this one doesn't call for any sweetener. That's because the ingredients themselves are all-natural and unprocessed whole foods that are sweet enough on their own. However, if you want to accentuate the sweetness to balance the earthiness of spinach, and add something to it, there are a couple of options. We like to use dates in smoothies; just take one and soak it in warm water first to soften it up a bit, and remove the pit. You can also use a pinch of stevia, but a little goes a long way. Either of these choices will keep this smoothie recipe as healthy and unprocessed as possible. This blueberry spinach superfood smoothie is a raw vegan superfood meal in a green smoothie package and is suitable for anyone on a vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, raw-vegan, or low-fat diet. It can also be made with other greens such as kale or chard, but spinach is definitely a less bitter green, and happens to pair really well with berries. 21 DAY SMOOTHIE DIET - CLICK HERE

  4. INGREDIENTS PREP: 5 MINS COOK: 0 MINS TOTAL: 5 MINS SERVING: 1 SERVING 1 MEDIUM RIPE BANANA 4 LARGE ICE CUBES 1/2 CUP FRESH BLUEBERRIES 1/4 CUP WATER, OR MILK 1 CUP FRESH SPINACH INSTRUCTIONS TIPS Gather the ingredients. In a blender, blend together the banana, ice cubes, blueberries, and liquid until smooth. Add spinach and blend again until completely smooth and creamy. No sweetener is needed in this recipe, as the blueberries carry the flavor and are plenty sweet on their own, but if you find this smoothie a bit too bland, try adding a touch of agave nectar to give it a bit more zing. Blend to incorporate. If you use frozen fruit in this smoothie, you can skip using ice altogether. Freezing bananas, in particular, is a great way to preserve them when you find yourself with more than you can consume. VARIATIONS Serve and enjoy. If you're eating a raw food diet, use water or another raw liquid, such as cashew milk or fresh-squeezed juice that you have on hand. If you're not concerned about eating raw, try apple juice or orange juice in this green smoothie recipe. Water or any kind of plant-based milk substitutes, such as coconut milk, almond milk, or soy milk, would also be just fine. Feel free to substitute the blueberries for blackberries, strawberries, or raspberries (or a combination thereof) for the blueberries. Instead of agave, small amounts of maple syrup or honey would be delicious and natural, too. 21 DAY SMOOTHIE DIET - CLICK HERE.

  5. 2 OH HONEY, GREEN PEAR SMOOTHIE Enjoy the vibrant fresh taste of a homemade pear smoothie. Our quick and easy recipe is filled with delicious flavors that complement both the sweet and tart pear and the earthy kale. It's a great introduction to green smoothies, as creamy bananas and ginger along with ground cinnamon balance out the fruit and vegetable flavors of the beverage. Get ready for a lovely, luscious drink that's filling and packed with healthy nutrition. Smoothies are a great way to start your day, especially if you don't have much time in the mornings and don't want to skimp on a proper breakfast. A classic on-the-go choice, smoothies are a great alternative for everyone in the family and a fun way of introducing small kids to new flavors. Our smoothie is a dairy-free alternative because the liquid base is almond milk, but you can alter the type of milk to suit your taste and what you have at hand. We recommend using D'Anjou pears because they're sweet and juicy. Either green or red pears will do, and the smoothie will remain green no matter what you choose, as the kale ensures its greenness regardless of the rest of the ingredients. If you can't find D'Anjou, use ripe pears that are in season. Any leftovers should be kept in the refrigerator and consumed within a day; alternatively, use them to make green ice pops. 21 DAY SMOOTHIE DIET - CLICK HERE

  6. INGREDIENTS PREP: 10 MINS COOK: 0 MINS TOTAL: 10 MINS SERVING: 1-2 SERVINGS 1 MEDIUM RIPE BANANA, SLICED 1 MEDIUM PEAR, SEEDED AND DICED 2/3 CUP ALMOND MILK 2 TO 4 SLICES FRESH PEELED GINGER, OR TO TASTE 2 TABLESPOONS HONEY 1/2 TEASPOON PURE VANILLA EXTRACT 1/4 TEASPOON GROUND CINNAMON, OR TO TASTE 1 1/2 CUPS COARSELY CHOPPED KALE 1 CUP ICE TIPS Although all kales have immense nutritional value and are packed with vitamins and antioxidants, many people can't stand the bitter taste of the greens and think that it'd be a difficult ingredient to add into a sweet smoothie. However, not all kales are made alike. Curly kale and dinosaur kale have very sturdy leaves, and they do have an earthy bitter taste, better suited to be cooked rather than eaten raw. However, red kale, or Russian kale, has softer leaves and a sweeter taste, and is amazing in salads and when added to smoothies. INSTRUCTIONS Gather the ingredients. In a blender, add the banana, pear, almond milk, ginger, honey, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Add the kale and then the ice on top to weigh it all down. Blend until perfectly smooth. Depending on your blender, 2 to 3 minutes might be enough. You may need to stop the blender halfway and push the ingredients down with a spoon to ensure they all get well combined. VARIATIONS There are many ways to adapt this recipe to your needs, and to what you have in your fridge: Use 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger if you can't find it fresh. Use another type of green suited for smoothies, such as spinach, collard greens, or Swiss chard. Use agave or maple syrup instead of honey. Use dairy milk or other plant-based beverages rather than almond milk. Coconut water is also a good alternative; although for a creamier taste, you could use canned coconut milk. Use 1/2 cup of plain yogurt, Greek yogurt, or plant-based yogurt instead of the milk. Serve immediately and enjoy. 21 DAY SMOOTHIE DIET - CLICK HERE

  7. 3 MANGO HONEY GREEN SMOOTHIE Green smoothies are a healthy addition to your diet, no matter how healthfully—or unhealthful —you already eat. This simple green smoothie recipe is made with mango, orange juice, banana and spinach and sweetened with honey. If you prefer not to use honey, agave nectar makes a good substitute to sweeten it up a bit, but you may also find that you don't need a thing to make it sweeter. 21 DAY SMOOTHIE DIET - CLICK HERE

  8. INGREDIENTS PREP:5 MINS COOK:0 MINS TOTAL:5 MINS SERVING:1 SERVING 2 BANANAS 1 LARGE MANGO (ABOUT ONE CUP) 1 1/2 CUPS ORANGE JUICE 1 LARGE HANDFUL SPINACH 1 GENEROUS TABLESPOON HONEY 3 TO 4 ICE CUBES INSTRUCTIONS TIPS Place all ingredients in a blender and whirl until smooth. When possible, choose organic to avoid having pesticides and chemicals wind up in your smoothie. For a little fiber, add chia seeds or flax seeds. For protein try spirulina, chlorella, nuts, or seeds, such as almonds, walnuts or brazil nuts. Fiber and protein will keep you full longer, which is good if you're having a green smoothie for breakfast. Add a bit more or less liquid to get your desired consistency. VARIATIONS If you prefer not to use honey, agave nectar makes a good substitute to sweeten it up a bit, but you may also find that you don't need a thing to make it sweeter, as this smoothie is naturally pretty sweet, to begin with. Mangoes are one of the sweeter fruits, and one mango contains 46 grams of naturally occurring sugar. While that may seem like tons of sugar, naturally occurring sugar from fruit is not usually something to be too concerned about. Mangoes are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber, so they're a healthy source of sugar. It's added sugars, found in foods such as candy, baked goods, and processed, sugary snacks that don't have much nutritional value but are loaded with empty calories.

  9. 4 RAW FOOD GREEN KALE SMOOTHIE Green smoothies were a huge hit in the raw vegan food scene years ago before they crossed over to the mainstream. Now, they seem to be just about everywhere. While you really can use any green in a green smoothie (spinach, chard, arugula sorrel, mustard greens), raw kale contains large quantities of anti-oxidants and other anti-cancer nutrients as well as beaucoup chlorophyll, manganese, calcium, and B-vitamins, making it the ultimate healthy superfood. This simple raw food green smoothie recipe with raw kale can be made even simpler by adjusting to whatever greenery you have on hand. The parsley and cilantro add their distinctive flavors while the mint reminds you of a favorite dessert. With great taste and immense nutritive value, this raw vegan food green smoothie with either dinosaur kale or curly leaf kale is a win-win scenario for everyone! If you're new to the wonderful world of green smoothies, first of all, welcome, you're going to love it, and secondly, you might want to learn more about the myth vs the truth. 11. 5 APPLE KIWI SUPERPOWER GREEN SMOOTHIE This Apple Kiwi Superpower Smoothie will reinvent what it means to say “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” What’s interesting about the 21st century is that now we know a lot more about why that saying came about. Apples are beneficial for the cardiovascular system, digestion, and are rich in phytonutrient polyphenols that help with blood sugar regulation. Recent research indicates that apples lower C-reactive protein (an inflammatory cardiovascular risk marker) and help protect the lungs from both asthma and lung cancer. It’s important to note that many of these benefits are lost in cooking and juicing, so smoothies and consumption of the whole fruit are the best way to go. Kiwis are another fruit that benefits lung function, and a single fruit contains nearly 100% of the RDA for vitamin C. Researchers are still trying to figure out what phytonutrients in kiwis manage to protect human DNA, but they do know that these fuzzy little guys manage to do so with a powerful arsenal of antioxidants. 21 DAY SMOOTHIE DIET - CLICK HERE

  12. INGREDIENTS PREP: 5 MINS COOK: 0 MINS TOTAL: 5 MINS SERVING: 1 1 APPLE, CORED AND CUT INTO CHUNKS 1 KIWI, PEELED AND QUARTERED 2 CUPS TENDER KALE LEAVES, CHOPPED 1/2 CUP CILANTRO LEAVES 1 1/4 INCH SLICE OF GINGER, PEELED AND CHOPPED 1 CUP FILTERED WATER INSTRUCTIONS TIPS Gather the ingredients. In a blender, blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more water if desired. Kale is an anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer nutritional superfood that supports the body’s detoxification pathways. It is the richest source of anti-inflammatory vitamin K in the plant kingdom and provides potent quantities of vitamins A, C, manganese, and numerous other nutrients. Pour into a cup, serve, and enjoy. Cilantro is an excellent plant for digestion and is used in heavy metal detoxification. Ginger rounds out the mix with powerful anti-inflammatory benefits.4 This little root is warming, provides relief from nausea and gastrointestinal upset and is beneficial for all forms of arthritis.

  13. 6 BONUS: GREEN SMOOTHIES FOR WEIGHT LOSS A major benefit of Green Smoothies is weight loss. Keep in mind, not all smoothies are created equal however. Some are very healthy while others, not so much. A proper green smoothie for weight loss includes lots of leafy greens and other vegetables, whole fruits such as a banana or apple, and water. Avoid adding dairy, such as milk or yogurt, as these add unnecessary fats and calories, and can irritate your digestive system. One major weight loss guideline is to increase your intake of vegetables, healthy fiber, and fruits. Green smoothies offer a quick and convenient method for this AND they are super quick and easy to make. Just throw everything in a blender for a few seconds, pour it in a travel cup, and you are ready to go. The fiber helps you feel full, reducing the urge for unhealthy snacks between meals.
