StepsToMakeBirthdayCard Step1.PlugyourFoilQuillpenintoaUSBpowersource.Youcanuse abatterypackforchargingsmartphones,alaptop,atabletorawalladapter.You’llseealightontheQuillwhenit’sreceivingpower(I’m usingtheStandardsizetip,butaFinetipandaBoldtiparealsoavailableeitherintheAllInOneKitorsoldseparately).LetyourQuillheatupforabout10minutes.

Step2.InserttheQuillintotheappropriateadaptersleevefor yourcuttingmachine(A=Silhouette,B=Brother,C=Cricut,D=Sizzix).  Step3.PlacetheQuillinthecarriagewhereyourbladewould go.(Somemachineshaveasketchpenholderwhichyoucanuseaswell,justbesureyouhaveselectedthepropertoolin yoursoftwarebeforefoiling.) 

  4. Step4.Besurethecordisoutofthewaysoitdoesn’tget tangledasyourmachineisfoiling. OpenanSVGfileorusethefonttoolinyoursoftwaretotype  yourdesiredmessage.Thebestfilesforfoilingaresingle sketchfiles,andI’musingonefromtheFoilQuillHoliday DesignDrive.Onceyou’veresizedyourimageandplaced line USB it whereyouwantonyourvirtualcuttingmat,it’simportantto makesureyouchangethesettingsinyoursoftwaresotheyworkforsketchinglikeyouwouldwithapen.I’musing SilhouetteStudioDesignerEditionsoftwarewithmyCameo3machine.
