Mens board shorts are generally knee length and are often made from fast drying material as they are actually associated with water related sport activities. They are often made out of materials like nylon or polyester. Mens swim board shorts are often confused with swim trunks, but they do have their differences. Board Shorts are most commonly wore by surfers as it is more durable and the length is convenient. Although majorly a men’s wardrobe essential, women also sport them from time to time.

But at times for extra support they might also wear something like a speedo underneath. Women usually pair a board short with a full bikini set or a swimsuit. How are board shorts and swim trunks different? The first difference that one can notice to understand which one is which, is the length. A board short usually reaches the knee or can even cross it but a swim trunk always stops above the knee. Swim trunks, as designed and used just for water, often comes with an extra mesh insert that provides additional support for the men. Swim trunks are majorly men centric and swimwear centric whereas board shorts are now used and styled for multiple purposes by both men and women. They are also used for playing volleyball and skateboarding. Board shorts do not have additional lining that is often found in swim trunks and last but not the least, board shorts are very baggy when it comes to the fit and are almost the least restrictive swimwear option for men especially, when it comes in comparison with others!
