Positives Promotion of cultural learning for all students integration of non-English speaking students into mainstream classrooms encouragement for multicultural socialization among students teacher learning broadened Negatives hindrances in overall classroom progression non-English speaking students unable to keep up with mainstream work obvious discrepancies between classes, races and genders teacher frustration with communication difficulties Bilingual Education

  4. ClassroomStrategies • Diversify groupactivities • enjoy cultural learning days • study differing ways of learning • have open forums for every student to encourage learning about their Cultural andfamily traditions

Awareness • Talk to students about where they come from • Speak with parents about student’s background • Study information about the various cultures in the classroom • Participate, Participate, Participate • get into open discussions with students about their thoughts • get involved in cultural learning days and activities • Be open to students!!!

  6. Student Awareness • Tell students about personal cultural history • encourage open discussions with other students • Talk to Students and explain diversity, culture, race • Teach them to be open minded and open hearted to others!
