SAB Objectives/Challenges • Objectives • Increase volunteer participation in standards development • Produce newer standards products (technical reports, guides, at-a-glance charts, quick tips notebook) and market via faster Computer Society sales channels (Ready Notes, etc) • Develop a “go-to” SAB website for all standards material • Initiate standards development in emerging technologies (gaming, energy, smart grid, cyber) • Work with other large stds development societies to develop a new financial revenue sharing model with IEEE-SA

SAB Objectives/Challenges (cont’d) • Challenges • Convincing corporations to fund volunteer travel to participate in standards development • Improving communication channels to make standards products easily available and affordable to practitioners (websites, social networks) • Producing products faster and yet following proper process (participation and voting) • Developing faster market sales channels
