  1. Arqueological sites in Puebla

  2. cholula It is said Cholula that when Hernán Cortés came to Cholula this vestige already was secret. Though the Spanish discovered time later that in the entrails of that mound there was a pyramid, they thought that to finish with a work of such a magnitude performed superior to his forces, for what they decided to build on the pyramid a church, which in 1594 already was dedicated to the virgin of The Remedies. In 1931 the pyramid began to be explored and after 25 years eight kilometres of tunnels perforated, which facilitated the discovery of seven most superposed pieces.

  3. cantona The site includes near 12 square kilometres; for his study it divided in three wide units and one worked the south part, which is the best preserved one; in her one finds the Acropolis (area where there are located the principal structures that gave lodging to the political, economic and religious power), turning out to be, therefore, a good sample of the accession. In agreement with the works, Cantona would be located chronologically between the years 600 and 1000 of our age. His brilliance coincides with the fall of the principal cities of the Classic horizon (even there is thought that it had something that to see with Teotihuacan's precipice on having obstructed the step of products of the coast to the altiplane) and with the arrival of peoples warlike that prompt got hold and dominated Mexico.

  4. Tepexi Tepexi the Old man fungió as head-board of one of the dominions popolacas more important that they controlled the south of what now is the condition of Populates during the Postclassic period (1200-1500 A.D.), this people supported narrow contact with Teotihuacan, since they were the popolacas the producers of the ceramics " orange thin " that was commercialized by the great city. This fortification presents five areas, on that there are located the platforms, pyramidal mounds, residential zones, watchtowers and tombs.

  5. Yohualichan This place is alike very much the pre-Hispanic city of The Tajín, in Veracruz. Yohualichan's name comes from the náhuatl and means " the place of the night ". This place is a former ceremonial center of the culture totonaca, is located to Cuetzalan's northwest, to 190 kilometres of the city of It Populates. Yohualichan believes himself that it was founded to beginnings of the Classic period (0 to 900 A.D.) and he gave up to the half of the Posclásico (900 1519 A.D.) due to the first expansions of groups nahuas of the center, beginning for the conquest tolteca, later the chichimeca and finally the terrible economic domain of Tenochtitlan's mexica, who threw towards the coast the last vestiges totonacas of this area.
