  2. Premise of Paper • Topic of Paper • Becoming an attorney can be difficult and not as easy as most people think. For instance, a lawyer's reputation can be used to determine whether or not a client would hire a certain lawyer. • Main Ideas • Becoming an attorney and what they do • Decisions when choosing a lawyer • Crimes that would lead to needing a lawyer

  3. Premise of Paper • Court cases - O.J. Simpson case - F. Lee Bailey and Johnnie Cochran Jr. • Types of Defense lawyer -Bankruptcy- not able to pay debts -Criminal Defense- must know criminal law rules -Divorce- family law, paternity, child custody -Child Support- specializes in family law

Job Shadowing • When: Thursday, March 15th • Where: Dare County Justice Center • Who: Merlee Austin (Dare County Clerk of Court) and Chrissy DeGabrielle ( Dare County Assistant District Attorney) • What: Met Judge Edgar L. Barnes, learned about the different types of courtrooms, learned about the tasks of a clerk of court, experienced two trails, witnessed a prosecutor in action

  5. Product • Model of Courtroom • I came up with the idea of a courtroom to showcase a courtroom setting • My product synthesized with my research paper and job shadowing. Since it creates a visual aid to better explain the setup of a courtroom.

  6. Product • My product does fill in an information gap by providing a visual of the courtroom allowing me and my audience to have a fuller understanding of the process.
