  2. John’s business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit begun at an early age He started off buying, refurbishing and selling second hand caravans

  3. In 1964, fleetwood caravans was born

  4. Fleetwood stores, also known as woodstock leisure industries

  5. John owned the largest number of retail outlets in western australia. His marketing abilities and work ethic are a hallmark of his business.

  6. As the Chief executive officer of fleetwood, john was determined to set the company apart from others.

  7. John set industry benchmarks and was determined to never compromise on quality or integrity.

  8. Past president of the ciawa, Formally known as the caravan trades & industries association (inc.) of w.a.

  9. John founded the sir david brand award in 1972 “I recall an excited Sir David Brand, WA’s first Minister for Tourism, saying the award would come to symbolise the pinnacle achievement in WA Tourism. How insightful his vision!” John A Wood.

  13. Fleetwood – founder of the sir david brand award in 1972 “Sir David Brand and Fleetwood intended for the awards to go on in perpetuity. I thank successive WA Governments, Industry Associations and importantly many unsung industry stalwarts for having the belief to ensure that vision continues.”John A Wood.

  14. In 1987, fleetwood expanded into caravan parks and the manufacture of park homes

  15. John created an industry specific insurance broking company. This became the driving force behind the first caravan, camping and Park home show in 1975.

  16. Fleetwood was always involved with the caravan & camping shows

  17. John has always been a man who gave his own time and personal resources willingly. In 1974 when cyclone Tracy hit darwin, john sent tents to help those affected.

  18. Today, fleetwood caravans is now known as fleetwood corporation

  19. John has now retired from the industry but his legacy still continues to this day

  23. Richard joined the family business - ravens caravans, at the young age of 17

  24. Richard and his father started up the coromal caravan dealership in 1978
