  3. LA MEMBRANA CEL·LULAR. ESTRUCTURA I COMPOSICIÓ Unitat 5. Embolcalls cel·lulars • Estructura comuna a totes les cèl·lules dels éssers vius. Constitueix l’embolcall que delimita una porció de citoplasma (membrana citoplasmàtica). • La mateixa estructura membranosa també delimita la majoria d’estructures internes de la cèl·lula. Les membranes biològiques (la membrana plasmàtica o les membranes internes de la cèl·lula) reben el nom de membranes unitàries.

Embolcalls cel·lulars FUNCIONS DE LA MEMBRANA • Transporta substàncies (manteniment de les estructures cel·lulars i creixement cel·lular). • Intervé en els moviments de desplaçament cel·lular i en els que faciliten la penetració i excreció de substàncies. • Intervé en l’intercanvi d’informació o estímuls fisicoquímics entre cèl·lules.

PARET CEL·LULAR La paret cel·lular és una estructura rígida, gruixuda, resistent i organitzada, exclusiva de les cèl·lules vegetals i els fongs, que envolta la membrana cel·lular i està formada bàsicament per cel·lulosa o quitina, respectivament.
