They often buy big presents like a bike, or MP3 player. What do other people buy? They buy sweets, clothes, books,… How do you usually celebrate your birthday? I usually have a birthday party with a cake. What’s on your cake? There are candles.

They sing Happy Birthday. • How do some older people celebrate their birthdays? They invite friends to the cinema or they go to the bowling alley. • Do you have “name days” in Slovenia? Yes, we do. • What do people in Hungary give for “name days”? They give flowers to women
