  3. Intercepts • X intercept is point where graph crosses the x axis and y=0 • Y intercept is point where graph crosses the y axis and x=0 • Real world examples a and b

  4. Graph by using intercepts • Find x intercept by plugging in zero for y • Find y intercept by plugging in zero for x • Graph using the two points • Ex. 4

  5. Exceptions • Some graphs will be missing one of the intercepts • Horizontal line • Vertical line

  6. Graph by making a table • Plugging in points to make the graph (choose x values and use equation to determine y values) • Ex. 5
