Project background

Project background

In Feb 2006 COAG agreed to two initiatives to improve take-up of RPL:

  • By Jan 2007, States & Territories will introduce contractual requirements for all registered training organisations and assessment centres in receipt of public funding to offer a quicker and simpler process to recognise the existing skills of all workers entering training;

  • An Aust Govt, State and Territory matched 3-year program, commencing on 1 July 2006. Commonwealth funding for this program will lapse on 30 June, 2009

    Over the next 3-years Victoria will implement its Skills Stores Initiative. This will be a strong driver in accelerating the uptake of RPL within the sector. Funding of Victoria’s Skills Stores initiative will continue to 2010
