  2. 2010 Report • Most recent published report • Gap Analysis Recommendations on each table today • Please take a few minutes to review with your committee members

  3. Worth Mentioning • Statements like: “In 2010, more schools earned ‘Exemplary’ status in the North Texas region than in previous years, but this improvement rate will still smaller than the state overall.” • Primary Lens: Many 2010 Gap Analysis findings focused on ethnic (primarily Hispanic and African American) and gender differences, with some mention of low SES.

  4. Concerning Trend

  5. Concerning Trend • “UNICEF found a U.S. child poverty rate of 23.1 percent -- way beyond any other economically advanced nation except Romania. In Spain, which is in a depression, the figure was 17.1 percent. In Canada it was 13.3. In Finland, 5.3.” • Daniel Akst, Newsday

  6. Research, Assessment and Accountability for 2012-2013 • In small groups or with a partner, review/discuss the 2010 Gap Analysis Recommendations • Consider the issue of poverty • Make notes on your recommendation sheet for the Research, Assessment and Accountability committee to consider as priorities to explore/analyze during the 2012-2013 academic year • Return notes to Barbara Bush or Cynthia Williams
