Building Your Teaching and Learning Toolbox • Avoid using technology just because it is “new” or “cool”. • Define the technology tool’s purpose to make sure it complements the activity and learning outcome. • Align the tool with your teaching style. • Try to utilize one technology tool that engages students outside of the classroom. Staying in front of your students between classes, engages them during class. • Using technology requires preparation and practice, so don’t just wing it! • ALWAYS have a Plan B ready. Technology issues occur. • Mix it up. Consider your audience. “One size doesn’t fit all”. • Keep it manageable. Don’t tackle too much at one time.
