  5. Selecting a System Select the Application for Admission system by going to: Select a System >> Application System >> Application for Admission Please note: At this time, URI is utilizing the Application System only.

  6. Searching for Applicants This page is a quick overview of the application activity within your program and is updated every 24 hours. You can access real-time numbers by clicking a link under the overview box below or by clicking Search for Applicants on the left hand navigation column.

  7. Searching for Applicants Make sure you have selected “Submitted” under the Display Options. You will not be able to view any documents for students who have not submitted their application. You will have limited access to what personal information they have provided thus far (i.e., email address, phone number, etc.).

  8. Searching for Applicants You must indicate a time frame from the drop down for either Creation Date or Submission Date or the search will display no results. Except if you choose Search by Individual. Click Submit Please note: You must enable Pop-ups in your web browser for applicant searches.

  9. Searching for Applicants If you are searching for someone specific, use Search by Individual. You must use the full last name or the first few letters of the name followed by”%”. For more information on this, click on the wildcard hyperlink as seen below or see the additional resources at the end of this presentation for a link to a recorded session on searching for applicants.

  10. Viewing Applications and Documents After searching, click on the applicants name to view the application. Once in an application, you can do an internal review or make a departmental admission recommendation which will go to the Graduate School to publish the final decision. Click the PDF icon to print application

  11. Viewing Applications and Documents 24 hours after the prospective student submits their application, you can view the URI ID here When the Graduate School publishes the final decision, it will display here. Students will be sent an email on the Decision Publish Date informing them of either an admission or denial.

  12. Viewing Applications and Documents Click the page links to view details or specific pages. This includes the internal review page for departments labeled “Departmental Review Page” and the departments decision recommendation to the Graduate School labeled “Department Recommendation Page”.

  13. Viewing Applications and Documents Remember that Pop-ups must be enabled and that if you have an open window with a students application up and click to open a different students application the information will refresh in the window already open. This prevents more then one application being open at the same time.

  14. Internal Department Reviewing Please use this section to review and make notes within your department . This page cannot be accessed by the student nor will it trigger a departmental recommendation to the graduate school for publishing. This is strictly for department reviewing. The recommendation to Admit, Deny or a ConditionalAdmitto the Graduate School requires two signatory authorities on the Department Recommendation Page – see next slide

  15. Making Decision Recommendations This page indicates to the Graduate School the departments formal recommendation of Admit, Conditional Admit or Deny. Please note both Approver 1 and Approver 2 sections must be completed and have the same value chosen in the Recommendation field for the system to publish the decision .

  16. Updating your Profile You can change your password here To disable the daily notification emails being sent select Do Not Receive and click save
